Annyeonghaseyo! We can't believe that summer is nearing its end. Hope you are all enjoying the start of back-to-school season!

We have some announcements, please see below:

1. Closed for Labor Day and for the Grand Prix tournament day!
We will be closed on the following dates: ​
-
CLOSED on Monday, September 7 for Labor Day
-
CLOSED on Saturday, September 26 for the 2026 Grand Prix (Sarasota).
Monday and Saturday students, you are welcome to attend a make up day of your choice at Westchase or Northdale on an extra Monday, Tuesday, or Saturday outside of your regular schedule.

2. Northdale's Mini Gym has been too hot to wear dobok - wear any outside clothes!
Unfortunately, Northdale's air conditioning has been unreliable - sometimes broken, sometimes working. For the rest of August, please feel free to wear any outside workout clothes (or just t-shirt with Taekwondo pants) to wear during class - along with your belt. (Of course you can also wear regular Taekwondo uniform as we normally would.)

3. Last chance to buy sparring gear and extra uniforms before prices go up!
Sad news - our equipment vendors are increasing their prices! This summer will be the last chance to purchase our class sparring gear or extra uniform at our current pricing. Beginning October 1st, we will have to increase prices. A friendly reminder that only sparring gear and uniform purchased with us may be used in class.​​

4. You can view our calendar here which marks sparring days, Promotion Test dates, team practice dates, and other schedule notes. The monthly calendars are available to download as a PDF if you have a hard time viewing online.​​​​​​​​​​​

5. Congratulations and good luck to our Fall Competition Team! On September 26th, our Team will be representing Crosskick at the 2026 Taekwondo Grand Prix in Sarasota.

Our athletes have been practicing extra hard at home and after class for their specialized training to prepare for competition. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for this big event! Here are photos and videos from last year.

As a personal update, I am now entering my 24th week of pregnancy! Mr. Joel and I are excited for our first child to be born later this year.
​​​
Remember that I am always available if your child needs help working on Taegeuk forms, blocks, kicks, or anything else. Everyone is welcome to come early and stay a few minutes after class if you have questions or want to practice a little bit more!
